Serbia ACFE Conference Belgrade: New Digital Trends in Business Protection

Conference “New digital trends in business protection” focused on the latest digital trends in business protection. The event featured experts in cyber security, digital assets, and compliance offering valuable insights and solutions for fraud prevention. 

ACFE Serbia Chapter president Miroslava Gacesa  opened the conference stressing the importance of combatting fraud in today’s digital landscape and the significance of internal fraud prevention frameworks within organizations.  Svetlana Novakovic highlighted importance of digital trends in protecting the business and set the framework for the following topics discussed. 

Renowned expert Aleksandar Jevtic discussed current trends in fraud risks, providing insightful analysis on the challenges faced in business protection. 

 Igor Franc president of Udruženje eSigurnost moderated panel on cyber security and the role of artificial intelligence in fraud prevention. Key experts like Sanja Kekic, Aleksandar Mirkovic and Dragan Topalovic, CISM CFE  shared strategies to counter modern digital threats and leverage AI tools for fraud prevention.

ACFE Serbia Chapter Vice president Sanja Ugrčić Pavlović, CFE  led a panel addressing threats and protection strategies in digital assets.  Vladimir Vujic,  Vladislav Stankovic and investigative journalist Aleksa Tešić  delved into the intricacies of digital assets, warning about potential abuses of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. They also proposed ways to enhance protection against digital risks. 

At the panel on ESRS G1 standards, which require companies to publish information on business conduct  Nenad Glavcic, Biljana Sinanović and Marija Kusic Radovanovic, CFE together with moderator Milutin Živanović  emphasised importance of improving fraud risk management and the crucial role of leadership in promoting a culture of honesty and accountability. 

The event featured case studies demonstrating effective cyber risk management frameworks. Aleksandar Mirković presented case for successfuk implementation of the Cyber Risk Management Framework, and Miroslava presented an example of Cimprehensive 

Fraud Prevention Program, emphasising the role of leaders and mutual cooperation of the organization at all levels.

Participants actively participated in conversations, exchanging ideas on boostering organizational resilience against financial crime risks.
