Digital Forensics Conference Belgrade

Digital Forensics Conference held in November has positioned Belgrade as the hub of events in Southeast Europe in the fields of digital forensics, cybersecurity, and blockchain technologies. The event brought together global experts, including representatives from the FBI, former employees of OpenAI and the University of Oxford, as well as officials from Serbia and Israel specializing in high-tech crime prevention.

Vladimir Grabulov, a member of Serbian ACFE Chapter, was part of the organizing committee and delivered a four-hour lecture for participants already familiar with corporate fraud investigations. His presentation highlighted how fraudulent schemes, although based on the same psychological tactics, have adapted to modern technologies and emerging trends. A particular focus was placed on the use of social engineering driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning, where fraudsters exploit human behavior to bypass traditional security measures and complex cybersecurity protection systems.

Vladimir Grabulov demonstrated how the combination of traditional forensic methods and digital tools, such as forensic data analysis, e-discovery, and incident response procedures, is crucial for preventing and detecting sophisticated fraud. He also emphasized the risks of over-relying on technology and its misuse, stressing the importance of integrating employee training with available digital resources to mitigate these growing threats.

The event provided a unique platform for sharing the latest insights on topics critical to fraud prevention, with a particular focus on the need to integrate digital tools with traditional fraud investigation techniques. Participants gained practical knowledge and insights that will help them better protect organizations and individuals.
